SBS Exchange Server 2003 POP failures

Another 3 hours wasted

But we found the solution!!

ISSUE: SBS 2003 Exchange Pop3 connector was not passing the password to the ISP server causing errors 1019, 1023, 1036, 1029. After 3 very long wasted hours of being on the phone with Microsoft, this is what they came up with.

SOLUTION: On the Exchange server, Browse to c:\program files\Microsoft Small Business Server\Networking\POP3 directory.

Make a folder called 'BACKUP' and move the following three files into it: IMBData.dat IMBProtocol.dat IMBData.bak

Restart the 'Microsoft Exchange POP3' service

You will need to recreate the pop3 mailboxes in the POP3 Connector. And Vwalla it worked!!!
